Hallmark, a privately held and family owned American greeting card company, has been in business for over 100 years. It is still ranked today as the largest manufacturer of greeting cards globally and provides products for nearly every continent. The company has also been a staple in the television world having run the Hallmark Channel since 2001 and producing the long-running Hallmark Hall of Fame series since 1951.

    Hours and Locations

Many of the Hallmark locations share the same hours of operations opening at 10:00am and closing at 9:00pm Monday through Saturday. Sunday hours can vary depending on location but are typically from 12:00pm to 6:00pm.  Even though most of the retail units operate by this schedule it is always best to research the closest location to you before paying a visit. It’s also a good idea to keep in mind hours may differ on holidays like New Year's day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Good Friday and Black Friday.  Hours.com is often used by people who are trying to find out if “there is a Hallmark near me, that’s open today”.

Our retail locator will help you find both the location and hours of operation of any store. With over 2,000  locations spread throughout the United States, it is fairly easy to find a chain if you are in need of a card.  As each store is privately owned by local owners, the locations are very diverse and spread throughout each state.

    A Brief History

Hallmark was founded in 1907 by Joyce Clyde Hall and his brothers who were all looking to capitalize on the 20th-century postcard craze. Only a short 5 years later the postcard craze had faded and the company began looking for other markets to enter. They quickly settled on selling Christmas letters and greeting cards and saw immediate success. By 1917 the company was booming and the creation of wrapping paper, by the company, would help to propel the company even further. In 1951 the company decided to diversify and began running their own television program for NBC called “Hallmark Hall of Fame.” The show has since went on to win more than 80 Emmy Awards and lead to the creation of the company’s own cable channel.
