Born and raised in Monterey, California, Gregg K. Satow, MD, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his orthopedic practice, helping patients in his hometown community overcome musculoskeletal issues of all kinds. From joint replacement to acute injury, Dr. Satow uses the latest techniques to restore function in his patients, allowing them to lead healthy, active lives. As an avid sports participant and enthusiast, Dr. Satow specializes in sports medicine and has served as the team physician at Monterey Peninsula College since 1991 and the team physician at Monterey High School since 2002. Dr. Satow’s general education started at Monterey High and continued at the University of California, Davis, where he was awarded a Regents Scholarship. Dr. Satow went on to earn his medical degree from UC San Francisco School of Medicine and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at UCSF as well. Board-certified in orthopedic surgery since 1993, Dr. Satow has recertified twice, in 2003 and 2012. To ensure that he stays abreast of the latest science and developments in his field, Dr. Satow is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He’s also a member of many educational organizations, including the American Medical Association, California Medical Association, American College of Sports Medicine, California Orthopaedic Association, Western Orthopaedic Association, Monterey County Medical Society, and Abbott Society. For expert surgical services, Dr. Satow enjoys full active staff privileges at Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula (CHOMP), Westland House and the Monterey Peninsula Surgery Center. When he’s not practicing medicine, Dr. Satow is an active member in his community, supporting and volunteering with several local schools and nonprofit organizations. He also coached Carmel baseball for several years. Dr. Satow lives in Carmel with his wife, Julie, their three children, and two dogs.
