    A Brief History

Boston Market, founded in 1984 by Steven Kolow and Arthur Cores, experienced a substantial growth in the mid 1990s. By leveraging a large debt load they were able to fuel their expansions. From those expansions a healthy amount of revenue was derived from one-time development fees and increased royalties. The positive trend for the company came to halt in 1998 as they had to file for bankruptcy. Ultimately they were bought out by McDonald’s in 2000 and were held until 2007 where Sun Capital Partners purchased the chain.
