Gary Sjurset joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in June 2016. He is excited about the opportunity to help people make the smart financial decisions that are essential to long-term financial security. Gary has a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Education from University of Wisconsin-Stout and a Master’s degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University. He holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses plus life and health insurance licenses in Virginia. In his free time, Gary enjoys baseball, spending time with friends, and spending time with family. Understanding that the biggest obstacle to financial security for most people is their own behavior, Gary serves as a personal financial coach to clients, continually reinforcing positive financial behaviors. He advocates time-tested financial principles, including disciplined, long-term saving and investing, careful debt management, and a thoughtful insurance strategy to manage financial risk.
